Italian ingredients.

View across from the Convent Santa Maria della Spineta, Umbria

Italy has always provided me with ingredients. Be them fresh from the market for the great Italian ‘pranzo’ (a lunch that can be larger than many North American dinners) and as inspiration for my work as a designer. I have an ever-growing visual catalogue of arches, tile layouts, framed views, classical forms and whimsical arangements that inform my work on a daily basis. Having spent six weeks in Italy I am feeling wonderfully full (again, like after an Italian pranzo…) with shapes, colours and approaches that I look forward to drawing from for upcoming projects. Italy doesn’t do everything right in my mind but my god does it put on a good spread.
