Francesca's Garden

Little Mountain, Vancouver

Plants, soil and love: This project has been evolving for over 30 years - and it is a true labour of love. My mother started work in this garden about 40 years ago, turning it from a patch of grass with an apple tree to a rose haven. I spent much of my childhood with my hands in the soil, weeding and making ‘snail houses’ out of dandelion weeds (always designing houses…) and have, in the last few years, begun to apply my interior design foundations to the garden: creating ‘rooms’, views and planting schemes that draw the eye.

Gardens are living rooms, bedrooms - even kitchens - without ceilings. It’s a natural segue for me to begin creating gardens for select clients.
